‘Couldn’t save the export — check the app’s file-access permission’
You might be here because: “couldn’t save the export” · “export fails with file access permission” · “network export won’t save” · “input log export doesn’t download” · “can’t save file from the app”
Short answer
The app could not write the export file where you chose. Both the input-log export and the network export show the same sentence when the write fails. Give Driftstack permission to write to that folder, or pick a different one.
Check first
- Did you pick a protected folder (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, or an external drive)? The operating system may require permission for the app.
- Is there free space, and is the drive writable?
Likely causes and fixes
- Permission denied. Grant the app file access in the operating system’s privacy settings, then export again.
- Read-only location. Choose a folder you can write to.
If it still fails
Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include the folder type and the app version; nothing on the account is involved.
