Inviting teammates is available on paid plans
You might be here because: “can’t invite my colleague” · “invite button is greyed out / not working” · “Inviting teammates is available on paid plans” · “can I add a team member during the trial” · “403 when sending a team invite” · “how many seats do I get” · “add a user” · “add my colleague”
Short answer
Teammates are a paid-plan feature. The Trial cannot send invites; every paid plan can. The refusal reads “Inviting teammates is available on paid plans. Upgrade your plan to invite people to your account.”.
Check first
- Billing: is the account on the Trial? Then this is expected.
- Are you the account owner, signed in to the web dashboard? Invites are an owner action from a dashboard session; a teammate cannot invite others, and the desktop app links to the dashboard for it.
- Is the message actually about limits (“invites waiting to be accepted”, “less than 10 minutes ago”)? See Team invite limits.
Likely causes and fixes
-
Trial account → 403 with the sentence above. The server checks the plan before storing or emailing anything; the dashboard shows the sentence word for word. Fix: choose a paid plan (Starter, Pro or Team are self-serve). Then invite from the dashboard’s Team page, as member or admin.
-
“How many seats?” There is no published seat count: every paid plan may invite, and the only limit enforced is on invites pending at once. See Team invite limits.
-
Invite sent from the desktop app fails. The desktop credential is refused for invites by design; the Team view lists members and links to the dashboard. Use the dashboard.
-
Paid plan but still refused. Confirm Billing shows the plan active and not past due; reload the dashboard. If it persists, contact support.
If it still fails
Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include: account email, the plan Billing shows, and the exact message. A person checks the plan record; the AI cannot enable invites on a trial.
