Use one proxy for several profiles (Assign to profiles)
You might be here because: “set the same proxy for all my profiles” · “assign to profiles” · “do I have to edit every profile to change the proxy” · “set a proxy for these profiles” · “bulk set proxy” · “does changing the proxy affect a running session” · “change proxy on all my profiles”
Short answer
In the Proxies tab, open a proxy’s Assign to profiles… (“Use this proxy for profiles you choose”), tick the profiles, and press Use for N profiles. Each ticked profile launches through this proxy from its next launch; a session already running keeps the proxy it started with.
Check first
- Signed in and online? Assignments are saved to the account.
- Is the proxy saved (it appears as a row in Proxies)?
Likely causes and fixes
- From the Profiles view. Select profiles, use Set proxy… in the bulk bar, choose a proxy and confirm “Use “label” for N profiles?“. Or use the banner’s Set a proxy for these…, which opens with exactly the profiles that have no proxy ticked.
- “Tick every profile that never had a proxy”. A shortcut in the dialog for profiles with no proxy or a deleted one.
- The dialog shows “uses other-label” beside a profile. That is the proxy it uses now; ticking it switches it. “already uses this proxy” needs nothing.
- “N couldn’t be saved. Try again, or choose it in Edit.” Some writes failed; retry or set those in Edit.
- A running profile shows “Next launch: label”. The change was taken; the current session keeps its proxy.
- “Couldn’t load your profiles. Close this and try again.” A read failed; close and reopen.
If it still fails
Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include the proxy label, how many profiles you ticked and the notice shown.
