Move: duplicates kept, ‘On your account, not on this computer’, tags won’t fit (200)

You might be here because: “the move shows copies of the same proxy” · “on your account, not on this computer, keep or delete” · “won’t fit, your account holds up to 200 tags” · “folders and tags missing after the move” · “why does it keep every copy” · “proxy over the limit during the move”

Short answer

The move never silently merges or deletes. Proxies with the same address and type but a different name or sign-in are shown as copies, and every copy is kept unless you pick one. Proxies the account has but this computer doesn’t are listed for you to keep or delete, and kept unless you choose Delete. Folders and tags are added to the account’s list unless its 200-tag list is full.

Check first

  • Read each section heading before pressing Continue; every one has a default that keeps data.
  • Deleting is only ever your explicit choice.

Likely causes and fixes

  1. “N copies of host:port” — “Same address and type, a different name or sign-in. Some providers put the country or session in the password, so these may be different proxies: every copy is kept unless you pick one.” Choose Keep every copy or keep only one. Exact duplicates (same address and secret) are merged automatically, oldest row surviving, with profiles following it.
  2. “On your account, not on this computer” — “You may have deleted these here while offline. They stay unless you choose Delete.” Default is Keep.
  3. “Won’t fit: your account holds up to 200 tags.” The account’s tag list is at its cap; remove tags in the dashboard, then reopen the move.
  4. “Your account’s list doesn’t have these. They were probably deleted on another computer.” Choose Add back to restore them.
  5. “N can’t move” — refused by the server: over the plan’s proxy limit, a private address, a VPN not on your plan, or an invalid entry. Those stay on this computer.

If it still fails

Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include the summary line and the section wording; never proxy addresses or passwords. Plan limits are a billing matter for a person; everything else here is a choice only you can make.
