Move as a team member: settings shown then removed from this computer
You might be here because: “you are a member of this team so these can’t change on the account” · “my profile settings were removed after the move” · “team member move shows differences I can’t apply” · “why can’t I change the team’s settings” · “stop on a new exit IP stays on” · “my settings vanished after signing in to the team”
Short answer
If you’re a member (not the owner or an admin) of the team workspace you’re moving into, your local profile settings can’t change the team’s; the move shows the differences so you can see them, then removes the local copies: “You are a member of this team, so these can’t change on the account. They are shown here and then removed from this computer.”.
Check first
- Which workspace are you signed into? Your personal account moves normally; only a team workspace where you’re a member behaves this way.
- Note down any setting you want to keep before pressing Continue — it’s shown once.
Likely causes and fixes
- Differences listed but no choice offered. Expected for members. Ask the team owner or an admin to set them on the account. Members can only list the owner’s proxies, and see a narrow row without address or sign-in.
- “Stop on a new exit IP stays on wherever either side has it on.” That one setting is never turned off by the move.
- Sharing a proxy with the team. The Share with [owner]’s team option lets the owner and admins launch through it; a team profile whose proxy you don’t share asks for a proxy.
If it still fails
Team roles are changed by the team owner in the dashboard, not by support. If you believe your role is wrong, tell the owner; if the owner can’t change it, a person at support can look — press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include the workspace and your account email.
