Proxy limit reached: delete a proxy or upgrade

You might be here because: “proxy limit reached” · “can’t add another proxy” · “delete an existing proxy to add another” · “how many proxies can I save” · “only the most recently used can launch” · “over plan limit for proxies”

Short answer

Each plan caps how many proxies the account can hold. Every paid plan gets as many saved proxies as saved profiles; the free trial keeps 5 saved proxies and 1 saved profile. Adding one past the cap is refused: “Proxy limit reached (N). Delete an existing proxy to add another.”. Delete a proxy you no longer use, or move to a plan with a higher cap.

Check first

  • Are you signed in to the right account? In a team workspace the cap is the team owner’s plan, whoever adds the proxy.
  • Count the rows in Proxies — proxies live on the account, so rows added on another computer count too.

Likely causes and fixes

  1. The account is at its cap. Current caps: Trial 5, Starter 25, Pro 100, Team 300, Scale 1,000, Enterprise by contract. The earlier Free plan held 1. Older plans keep their own caps. Delete a proxy in the Proxies tab, then add the new one.
  2. Deleting a proxy detaches its profiles. Every profile bound to it shows “proxy deleted — choose another” and will not launch until you pick another proxy. Reassign first with Assign to profiles… if you want to avoid the gap.
  3. You are over the cap after a downgrade. Saved rows stay, but only the N most recently used can launch; a launch through another is refused with “Your plan allows N saved proxies and this account holds M…”. Delete some or upgrade.
  4. Importing a computer’s proxies. The import refuses items past the cap with “Proxy limit reached (N). Delete a saved proxy or upgrade to add another.” and asks you to choose when a same-address twin exists at the cap.

If it still fails

To move to Starter, Pro or Team, open the dashboard → Billing → Choose a plan (self-serve). Scale and Enterprise, refunds, disputed charges and “I paid but the plan is not active” are handled by a person. If the count of proxies you see is below the cap and you are still refused, press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include your account email, the plan you are on and the exact message — a person should look.
