Cancel your subscription: what happens at the end of the period
You might be here because: “cancel my subscription” · “how do I cancel” · “stop billing me” · “will I lose my profiles if I cancel” · “cancel button didn’t cancel” · “I cancelled but was charged again”
Short answer
Cancelling is self-serve: dashboard → Billing → Cancel in … portal, which opens the billing portal, then choose Cancel plan there to finish. Pressing the button in the dashboard does not cancel anything by itself. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep everything until then, and your account, profiles and data stay afterwards — only new sessions stop until you subscribe again.
Check first
- Signed in to the dashboard as the account owner? The portal only ever opens the signed-in person’s own billing.
- Is there a subscription to cancel? On the Trial there is no portal button — the trial simply ends.
- Did you finish inside the portal? The dashboard button only opens it.
Likely causes and fixes
-
“I pressed Cancel and nothing changed.” Expected: the dashboard button opens the portal in a new step; the plan is cancelled only when you choose Cancel plan there. Go back and finish.
-
“What do I lose?” Nothing is deleted. After the period ends you can still sign in and see everything, but you cannot start sessions until you subscribe again; recordings saved by the desktop app stay on that computer. The account returns to the unpaid tier — the ended-Trial state. You can resubscribe at any time.
-
“Can I get money back for the rest of the period?” Card payments can be refunded in full within 14 days of your first paid charge if you have not started a session yet; past that, not unless the issue is on our side. Crypto payments are non-refundable — cancelling stops future periods, the current one is not refunded. A person handles every refund under the published refund policy.
-
“I want the account gone, not just the plan.” That is a separate request handled by a person — see Delete my account / data subject request (a person performs it).
If it still fails
Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include your account email, the date you cancelled and what Billing shows now. “I cancelled but was charged again”, refunds and disputed charges are handled by a person; the assistant can only explain the timeline above.
