Which emails Driftstack sends and how to turn them off

You might be here because: “how do I stop these emails” · “unsubscribe” · “Email notifications” · “Security and billing emails are always sent” · “Email preference saved.” · “why did I get a renewal reminder” · “I turned off emails but still got one” · “is this email really from Driftstack” · “status page emails” · “Couldn’t save email preference”

Short answer

Dashboard → Settings → Email notifications has six optional emails you can switch off; security and billing emails — verification, password reset, failed payments, support replies — are always sent. Every account email comes from [email protected]; anything claiming to be Driftstack from another address or service isn’t us — report it to [email protected].

Check first

  • Signed in as the account that receives the emails? Preferences are per account, per event type.
  • Status-page emails are a separate subscription, not tied to your account; each one carries its own unsubscribe link.

Likely causes and fixes

  1. The six switches. Signup welcome (sent once after you verify); First session failure; First session success; Subscription tier changed; Billing receipts (the card processor’s own receipts are sent either way); Renewal reminder, about 7 days before each renewal. Untick one and the page confirms “Email preference saved.”.

  2. What always sends. Account and sign-in emails (verify, password reset, a new sign-in method, two-factor warnings), team invites, payment failed, security advisories such as the reminders to rotate a webhook secret or your AI provider key and the notice before a trial account is deleted, and support acknowledgements and replies.

  3. “I cancelled and got no email.” When you cancel, the only email you may get is “Subscription tier changed”; with that switch off there is none — the change still shows on your Billing page and in the audit log.

  4. No receipt for a crypto payment. Crypto orders don’t email receipts; download them from the dashboard. A zero-amount invoice — a trial start or a full discount — produces no receipt either.

  5. Still getting an email after switching off. Only those six are optional; every other email is operational and always sends. Check the sender: a processor’s own receipt is not controlled here.

  6. “Couldn’t load email preferences (…)” / “Couldn’t save email preference (…)”. Try again. If the request only took too long, the switch still shows your change.

If it still fails

Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include: account email, which switch you changed and when, and the subject line and date of the email that still arrived. Nothing here requires an account action.
