‘Your sign-in has expired. Sign in again’ (dashboard)
You might be here because: “your sign-in has expired” · “dashboard keeps logging me out” · “I was signed in and now everything says sign in again” · “buttons fail with sign in again and retry” · “too many attempts, wait a moment” · “the service is temporarily unavailable”
Short answer
The dashboard shows this whenever the server answers a request with 401 or 403. The server gives the same answer for a session that is unknown, expired, or revoked — it deliberately doesn’t say which. Sign in again; your data is untouched.
Check first
- Sign out and back in once before anything else.
- Did you change your password, or sign out “everywhere”, on another device? Those sign out earlier sessions.
- Is site storage still allowed? A browser that clears site data on close will forget the session each time.
Likely causes and fixes
- The session ran out. Sessions expire. A dashboard sign-in lasts 30 days. Sign in again.
- The session was revoked. A password reset signs out previous sessions. Sign in with the new password.
- Signed in on another account in the same browser. Opening a magic link while already signed in offers “Choose which account to use”; a dead stored session is cleared automatically.
- “Too many attempts. Wait a moment and try again.” Not expiry — a rate limit. Wait a minute.
- “The service is temporarily unavailable. Try again shortly.” A server-side error, not your sign-in. Check the status page and retry.
- It happens right after signing in, every time. See ‘Your browser is blocking site storage’.
If it still fails
Press Talk to a person in this chat (or open Help) and include the time it happened, the page you were on, and whether you had recently reset your password or signed in elsewhere. If you didn’t reset your password and sessions keep dying unexpectedly, mention it — unexpected revocations are checked by a person.
